Treatment for fungal conditions such as mud fever, rain scald, and
ringworm. Good all-around healer, for cuts and abrasions.
Equr is all-natural and completely biodegradable, made with essential
oils and a complex of naturally-occurring polysaccharides. Equr is
a sticky unguent (ointment) that is to be applied and massaged into
the affected area.
Equr lifts scabs painlessly and encourages hair growth.
Scabs and unhealthy skin
If you have ever had to deal with mud fever or rain scald scabs, you
know how difficult it can be. Before you use any kind of treatment
on your horse, be sure about what ailment afflicts her by having the
vet diagnose the problem.
Mud fever is a combination of a bacterial infection and fungal infection.
Equr's all-natural ingredients are highly effective in stopping the
bacteria which cause mud fever. It easily and painlessly lifts the
giant scabs that form as a result of the body trying to fight off
the infection. The reason Equr works while other remedies do not is
because the natural ingredients and essential oils promote healthy,
normal skin, allowing the horse's immune system to do it's job.
Equr does not contain any grease or petroleum, and washes off easily
with only warm water, no soap needed!
How to use Equr effectively
Now that your vet has diagnosed your equine buddy with mud fever,
you need to know the best, fastest, most effective way to eradicate
it.
Your first step is to gently and thoroughly wash the horse's legs
from the knee and hock down. Use a mild soap like Unlox
non-foaming shampoo or iodine shampoo, which will also kill off some
of the bacteria. Avoid picking off any scabs, as this does more damage
to the skin! Be sure to rinse well, and most importantly, dry the
hair and skin very thoroughly. Use a clean, dry towel, and if your
horse will allow it, a hair dryer.
Now that you have clean, dry legs, begin massaging Equr into the affected
areas, making sure you coat the skin and scabby areas liberally. Some
of the scabs will begin to loosen and even fall off. For the next
5-7 days, at least once a day re-apply Equr, but do not wash off or
scrub the legs. Mud fever grows best on soggy, spongy skin, so washing
everyday is not the best option, even when you have eradicated the
infection. In between applications, you can take a slightly dampened
hand towel and remove the previous application. After about a week,
wash legs with the mild shampoo and dry thoroughly. Apply Equr once
a day for at least another week, or until scabs are completely gone.
Tips to remember: Use a soft sponge to wash horse's legs, no stiff
scrub brushes. Dry legs thoroughly after washing, and keep legs as
dry as possible with clean bedding. Turn out indoors when conditions
outside are muddy, if possible. Avoid scrubbing legs on a routine
basis. Clean off legs with soft brush, as stiff brushes may damage
skin. |
